Where the fuck have I been that I've heard almost zilch about this?
What prompted the Raid Gods merger?
Is it safe to assume that since the only raids up are during the week that we wont be raiding weekends anymore?

You haven't been online. It's been discussed for some time, though much of it has been kept under lock and key by the Officers and long-term members(i.e. 6-12 mo.). The DDRG channel wasn't just a whimsical decision, it was a precursor to this.

It is summer. I realize that a lot of people have things to do during the summer(new jobs, swimming, drinking, beach trips, etc.). I also realize that it is the pre-Cataclysm lull. The Lich King is dead, the Ruby Sanctum is nowhere near as lengthy as Icecrown Citadel, etc. Because of this, we have been seriously hurting for members in order to do anything during the week--as you may have noticed, the Weekly Raid has not been done in well over a month due to attendance. Additionally, the weekend run has been eliminated down to Friday. Saturday and Sunday have had less than 5 people show up at raid times.

We are not the only guild to suffer from this issue. Raid Gods has been suffering similar issues for quite some time, which has caused our latest 25M runs to be more "pugged" than most would prefer. As a result, the runs have been less than stellar when they were predominantly Raid Gods/Dulcis members.

To answer your question--yes, Raid Gods will most likely be merging into us next week. Do not fret about weekend runs, as they will most likely not change. Raid Gods will have runs during the week, so those that cannot attend a weekend run can attend that and vice versa. It also enables us to bring a myriad of toons to each raid and increase ability to progress, because lately our runs have been "X cannot be here, so the run is shot." This also opens the opportunity for more "fun" raids to be had with the increase in members. Want to get some achievements in Ulduar? Throw a group together during the week and roll! Each Dulcis/RG member has one main and at least 2 available alts at 80, save for a few so the opportunities are there.

25M content will most likely be seeing an increase in this merger, though the details have not been worked out fully at this time.


These are great people, guys. It took a lot of discussion amongst the leaders to make this possible. I know Amalkuris very well and believe me when I say that this was not a light decision to make.




*Addendum*: There are no weekend runs scheduled for this week because it is the Fourth of July weekend. A lot of folks would enjoy guzzling beer, lighting fireworks under people's lawn chairs, devouring hamburgers, etc. They will resume next weekend.
